![]() This page is for all the stuff I wanted to put up in this website, but couldn't find a way to organize. Kind of a catch all page. It includes "thank you's" to those who brought me and this website to life, links to other sites, and other things I couldn't put anywhere else.
Mommy Daddy went though a lot to get me into this world. They call me their miracle baby. Much thanks to mom, who had to endure a longer hospital stay and, a lot of pain to bring me to life. Mom, known as "Rowie" to her friends, had a lot of practice with babies. She works as a social worker for San Francisco's Child Welfare Services. She is also very creative and loves making albums and scrapbooks, so when you come to visit, make sure to ask her to show you some of her work.
Ako ay Pilipino The graphic above is how my name, Joseph Quimson, would be written using the ancient Filipino writing system called "Baybayin". Though being born in the United States of America makes me an American citizen, my dad believes that it is important for me to honor my family heritage. Like many Filipinos, I am a virtual melting pot of different races. The Quimson family, which can trace it's family tree in Alaminos, Pangasinan back to the 17th century, has Chinese roots. In fact, a family legend passed down through generations claims that the Quimson's are decendants of the Chinese pirate, Limahong, who gave the name 'Quimson,' meaning 'precious gold' ('Khim' means 'gold' in the Hokkien language), to a son he had with the princess of a tribe from Pangasinan.
My lola Dulce's maiden name, Gagan, also has European origins (possibly Irish), while the Manlapaz family hails from Bulacan and Pampangga. Links Here are a few links for you to check out:
