The St. Andrew Community is blessed with a wealth of active organizations and ministries filled with people eager to share their gifts and talents to others.

Reaching Out

AIDS Education
Educates the community about the needs of AIDS sufferers.
Doll Project
Provides dolls and other toys to help poor children experience the joy of Christmas.
Gospel and Peace Group
Organizes activities to help the community be aware of social justice issues.
Grief Ministry
Provides comfort and understanding to those in our community suffering loss.
Jerusalem Fund Committee
Allocates a percentage of our collections for the poor through various agencies.
Neighbors in Need Program
Provides the needy in our community assistance with emergency food, shelter, clothing, household goods and other items.
R.C.I.A.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Sharing our community life and God's word with those wanting to become Catholic.
SHARE Food Cooperative
Allows those who do give community service to gain big savings on groceries.

Building Community

Arts and Crafts Group
Meets each Wednesday to create various craft items for a Christmas Boutique.
Evangelization Committee
Reaching out to share the Good News and bring more people to our church.
Filipino Pastoral Committee
Coordinates the implementation of our parish Filipino Pastoral Plan.
Five S's
"Sealing, Sorting, Stamping, Stuffing, Sweethearts of St. Andrew." Volunteer to help get out monthly and special mailings.
Knights of Columbus
National Catholic Men's Organization.
Legion of Mary
Group devoted to Mary our mother. Meets weekly and does parish service through visiting convalescent hospitals, home visiting, etc.
Men's Club
Does maintenance and repair work throughout the parish plant.
Parish Pastoral Council
Meet monthly and serve on various committees to help plan and implement the parish mission statement.

Supporting Each Other

Adult Education
Provides workshops and classes on a variety of topics to assist adults in their growth in faith.
Baptism Preparation Team
Leads three seminars to prepare parents for their baby's baptism.
Bible Study
Learning about the Bible as God's Living word in our lives.
C.C.D.
Religious education classes for children from age three to eighth graders; includes preparation of both children and their parents for the celebration of the sacraments of Communion and Reconciliation.
Faith and Light
Monthly gathering of the developmentally disabled, their families and friends, to eat, share and pray together.
Financial Stewardship Committee
Develops parish budget and educates parishioners about their responsibilities to share time, treasure and talent. Raises funds for parish budget.
GUPPIES
Grandmothers praying for pregnant women and newborns in distress.
High School Religious Education
Catechism for high school students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
L.I.G.H.T.
living In God's Holiness Together. The Young Adult Ministry of the parish that seeks to grow together in faith through prayer, sharing, service and fun.
Marriage Preparation
Married couples preparing couples for the sacrament of matrimony.
S.A.Y.
St. Andrew Youth learning about their faith, building community and developing leadership skills.
Small Faith Communities(Cenacle)
Ordinary Christians helping each other grow in faith by meeting in small groups in one another's homes.
Youth Ministry Board
Youth and adults who plan and direct the parish youth ministry program.
U.V.A.S.
Unidad, Voluntad, Amistad y Servicio. Service and fellowship group in Spanish.

Worshiping God

Altar Servers
Assist at the altar during mass time.
Bread Bakers
Parishioners who bake some of the bread used in our liturgies.
Charismatic Prayer Group
Meets every Sunday to praise the Lord.
Eucharistic Ministers
Assists with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and with the homebound and hospitalized.
Greeters/Ushers
Greet people at the door, offering welcome and hospitality and help direct people to available seating, take up the collection and offer information and assistance.
Lectors, Commentators
Proclaim the word of God and offer important commentary on the proceedings at mass.
Liturgy Committee
Plans and coordinates our celebrations throughout the year.
Liturgy of the Word with Children
Provides age appropriate scripture readings and homilies for children in grades 1 through 6.
